What is Oily Business?

Oily Business is an interactive idle/clicker game where players step into the shoes of an oil tycoon. The objective is to drill for oil, manage resources, and steadily grow an empire of rigs and extraction points.

The core gameplay loop centers around manual interactions (spinning a wheel to extract resources) that eventually evolve into an automated idle experience as you purchase upgrades.

Key Gameplay Mechanics

• Resource Extraction: Spin a wheel to extract oil. Once the spin meter fills, players earn random upgrades or cash.
• Oil Storage & Selling: Managing storage is crucial. Players must store extracted oil and wait for the best time to sell based on a dynamic market price influenced by world events.
• Upgrades: Purchase various upgrades like Drill Power, better Bits (Tungsten, Diamond), Storage expansions, and Drill Cooling systems.
• Automation: Hire workers (Interns, Technicians, Engineers) and install Electric Motors to automate the drilling and selling processes.
• Hazards & Maintenance: Manage drill heat (which pauses drilling if it overheats) and broken drill bits (which require manual intervention or hired workers to fix).

Progression

The game begins with a single manual rig in a small location, such as a backyard. As players progress, they can unlock new maps, expand their operations with multiple rigs, and discover rare resources like Natural Gas, Gold, Platinum, and Uranium.

The ultimate goal is to grow the operation large enough to take the company public and secure massive wealth.
